Easel, in partnership with Art History in Schools, is hosting a free annual arts career fair, at the Institute of Contemporary Art on the 8/9th June 2018. The two day event will be an opportunity for school students, undergraduates and postgraduates to come and talk to educators and industry professionals about their next step. Easel will be able to advise on our grant scheme and mentorship programme and we have invited universities, schools and arts institutions and charities to attend, have a stand and contribute to the events programme.
We have hired the three exhibition rooms at the ICA. The main space will host the stands for the universities and art institutions to send representatives. The theatre room will be for the talks throughout the day from undergraduates, university lecturers, the author of the first History of Art textbook and many more. The second exhibition space will host the workshops put on by our charitable partners.
The first day is for University candidates or Apprentices. Will will host a series of talks and workshops helping them make the next step to employment. They will be able to speak to institutions and discover what kind of career they would like to pursue. We will host workshops to help hone interview technique. We have speakers from masters programmes and from auction houses, museums and galleries tohelp candidates make an informed decision. There will be an evening networking eventfor the candidates to meet industry professionals.
The second day is for sixth form students. The focus will be on the next step for them whether that is an undergraduate degree or an apprenticeship. Universities will be on hand to speak to the candidates about their options. We will also have the institutions there on this day so that candidates can discuss where their path could take them and what qualifications are needed for a desired career.
If you are a university or an institution and would like to participate at our fair or send a speaker, please do email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
If you are a candidate and would like to attend the fair, please watch this space. We will publish the registration form in January.
